PLN post #1

One of my personal learning networks is the book I am currently reading. Currently I am reading “The Story of Eli Whitney” by Jean Lee Latham. This book is not the most difficult read but the reading is helping me catch up on some time lost during the summer. This book is about Eli Whitney and how he helped grow America with the invention of the cotton gin and the idea of interchangeable parts, this is important because I live in America today and I believe that I should be knowledgeable on my country and the people who helped form the country. Also I believe that this book shows good examples of indirect characterization from the way the writer displays people and how they speak.(seeing that we were going over this in class I made the connection) This book also shows good theme and setting in the first chapter setting up what will happen and getting me aware with what is going on in the story.
